I had this English project to do about the canterbury tales...really not sure if I'm spelling it right lol. But you asked for more than 1 character and for them to be interacting. I wish i worked on some of the lighting. I'll probably work on it a bit more.
i know i need to work on the background lol
ReplyDeleteVery interesting! Just try and improve on the smudging when you're in photoshop. (I'm guessing you either have CS4 or CS5) You can use your magic wand tool and select the characters and stuff and post it on a new layer, or you use the 'Quick Selection tool' (you get that by holding on the magic wand tool in the tool bar and a tab should pop up. you could individually select a character or color and have it selected and in the new layer. That way you don't have that smudging on the fingers like on the monk-character. You're sure getting there and I love how you're improving! Might I also suggest using illustrator? I know illustrator can be extremely hard, but after knowing the basics it can be really easy! I've been using Photoshop and Illustrator for over 4 years now and I realized you can combine the two and create one amazing drawing that can look pretty official! Be aware of using RGB and CMYK, remember RGB is used on computer mandators and electrical screens such as a TV but if you print it out, sometimes it has to change itself to a CMYK and it will not look like what you expected. When drawing these things use colors that look great in RGB and CMYK! Keep on drawing! I want to see more of this!! If you need any help with anything I'll gladly help in anyway possible! Just send an email or a IM on my yahoo - taylor_milano@yahoo.com :D
ReplyDeletealright haha thanks man! that's a lot to take in at once. With this project i was just trying some things leaving some smudged and some not. I want to get illustrator. Actually what is illustrator?, do you create your own drawings right from it? and the layer thing, I'm still trying to figure it out, it seems to be locked or something. ill keep checking it out and messing around.
ReplyDeleteUhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, cool composition? Thanks to Jayson for the post and to Taylor for the rockin' feedback post! Dig it!! So, Jayson, what he said, though I would add that I am really impressed with how you were able to capture the essence of your figures. I can almost see the monk shaking for real!! So with regards to the hands, I think they are cool with the shimmy shake from the smudge too. My beef is with the fat clunky line on the rocks, I'd go back and work on those. Additionally, try zooming in more, WAY more and drop your brush size down, WAY down to better go in and get at some of the details. I'm not looking for photo realism, but I think you can keep the speed painting type look/feel with more refinement. My final suggestion is that you go in to your figures and warm up their fronts with the fire color glow. And for the record, the composition is really good! I love the multi character interaction, keep at this one
ReplyDeletehaha well illustrator is a vector based program. its when you create a drawing or a logo and such and not worry about pixel distortion and such. Illustrator is great when it comes to creating characters and such. When I first started Illustrator I honestly hated it with a burning passion! But practicing made it much easier! :D and also go with Keith said too, he brought up some good feedback as well.
ReplyDeletealright guys haha thanks for the feed back. i will definitely get in further with the zooming and smaller brushes. And yeah i did notice how much the pixelation is on photoshop...and i have to say I'm not liking it to much. but yeah i didn't really take my time on the rocks and i will fix that. and I'm going to look at illustrator. thank you guys
